As a Family Nurse Practitioner you will provide primary care services to a diverse population of patients in a Nurse Practitioner managed Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) ‚Äč serving homeless and low income adults. Working 24-30 hours per week you will be seeing patients with acute and chronic illnesses in our ambulatory care clinic and conducting home visits to patients in our Housing programs and community shelter programs.  You will mange a broad range of health problems and provide treatment, education, consultation and referral and serve as an advocate for the patient.


Qualifications include a degree from an accredited Family Nurse Practitioner program, Nurse Practitioner license and furnishing number. You will have at least 1 year of experience serving an adult population in an acute or primary care setting. You must hold a current DEA license or be DEA license eligible. Fluency or competency in Spanish is a plus! Flexibility in the position being part-time with the possibility of increasing hours to become full-time is preferred. 


Located in downtown San Rafael, Ritter Center helps prevent homelessness and improve the health and well-being of individuals and families living in poverty in San Rafael and Marin County.  Established in 1980, Ritter Center responds to the needs of Marin County’s low-income residents by providing highly professional services with respect and compassion.  Assisting more than 4,000 individuals each year, Ritter Center operates as Marin County’s primary access point for individuals and families in gaining access to social services through it’s own programs and a thorough referral network to other vital services in the community. Ritter Center’s main outcomes are transitioning people into housing, employment, and health, mental health and substance abuse treatment as well as improving people’s day to day living conditions.
