Who We Help

Each year, Ritter Center assists more than 4,000 people living in Marin County. We serve low-income and no-income individuals and families who are without a home or at-risk of becoming homeless.

 ~~JOB SUMMARY
The Health Clinic Office Coordinator greets patients and admits them to the Clinic while maintaining optimum patient flow. Responsible for registering patients, entering patient encounter documentation and supporting activities related to clinic administration and patient care.  Organizes and inventories medical supplies to ensure smooth running of clinic operations.  Upholds Ritter Center’s values of providing services to any and all in need with respect and compassion. This position reports to the Health Clinic Administrator.

~~DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
 Register and admit patients to the Health Clinic and maintain patient flow.  Manage phone calls and incoming mail for the clinic staff, and perform administrative tasks to support the clinic function.
 Organize and maintain patient records, copy and send for records as needed, fax medication refills to pharmacy. 
 Establish new patient records in the database and enter data for billing.  Submit billing to external agency for processing.
 Stock and clean exam rooms daily.  Organize and maintain medical supplies; monitor inventory levels for orders
 Coordinate patient transport for ambulance and taxis, respond to Ritter Center calls and complete incident reports as needed
 Work collaboratively with nurse practitioners and case management staff to ensure follow through with dental and other needed appointments and coordinate patient services with RN care managers as needed
 Maintain highest level of confidentiality of patient encounters
 Meet with supervisor, attend staff meetings, and trainings as scheduled
 Adhere to the goals, objectives, and personnel policies of Ritter Center
 Perform other duties as assigned
 

~~QUALIFICATIONS
 Medical clinic related experience; familiar with medical terms and medical administration procedures
 Excellent organizational skills with excellent attention to details.
 Strong problem solving skills and follow through on projects and tasks
 Must be proactive, take initiative and function as a flexible team player with nurse practitioner and other Ritter Center staff.
 Strong computer skills (Outlook, Excel, Word)
 Strong interpersonal/people skills; ability to establish and build trust with patients and staff with compassion and respect
