Site Merchandise Manager


The Digital Merchandiser is responsible for ensuring sales, marketing and merchandising objectives are met both online and in support of the overall business. The individual plays a key role in delivering eCommerce business results including conversion, sales, gross margin and inventory performance.  This position works closely with planning, marketing, creative, and the development team to create and execute an online merchandising strategy.  


  • Manage and execute launch of digital content onto the TIMBUK2 website.

  • Oversight of financial accountability for sales, gross margin dollars/rate and inventory performance.

  • Plan, communicate, and execute merchandise presentation strategy for online products in order to maximize sales and margin in support of the financial goals for the merchandising / eCommerce group.

  • Collaborate with and inform cross functional partners to ensure appropriate assortment, promotional activity, and customer communications lead to desired business results.

  • Manage seasonal liability of products for eCommerce including the removal of inactive products and test of new products on-line.

  • Drive strategy and performance of site search through an understanding of customer intent, business context, and internal variables.

  • Collaborate with eCommerce team, marketing, planning, and SEO team to ensure assortment and product content is accurate and reflects brand voice.

  • Monitor the website for customer product ratings and report back to the Merchant team.

  • Review and analyze competitor site merchandising, promotional tactics, user experience, product representation and taxonomy to provide counter-strategies when appropriate. 


  • Bachelor’s degree in Merchandising, Specialty Retail, or equivalent work experience.

  • 4+ years of multi-channel merchandising experience through the use of an online platform and content management system.

  • 2+ years of experience working with a web analytics package (Omniture, Google Analytics or equivalent).

  • 2+ years of SEO knowledge preferred.

  • Experience with Demandware/Salesforce Commerce Cloud is a plus.

  • Ability to interpret web analytics and financial data to optimize merchandising plans in support of sales.

  • Exhibit entrepreneurial drive to serve as a catalyst for change and to manage multiple work streams simultaneously.

  • Strong Microsoft Office Suite skills required.

  • Strong presentation skills required.
